Program and Campus Initiatives

Worth the Wait Curriculum for 5th and 6th Graders:
A variety of topics are covered to help students realize the social, psychological, and physical health gains they will achieve by abstaining from sexual activity. It also provides students with the skills that will lead them to self-sufficiency and a strong resolve to remain abstinent.

Healthy and Wise Health Curriculum:
Topics covered are fitness, nutrition, personal health, family health, community health, consumer health, environmental health, growth & development, mental & emotional health, injury prevention & safety, prevention & control of disease, substance use & abuse. Activities are provided that promote & foster a safe & healthy school environment.


Campus Initiatives:

First Knights and Early Act Club:
Through a grant from the Rotary Club, a program has been initiated for several years for all grade levels, which includes a curriculum binder for each classroom teacher, monthly Knighting Ceremonies honoring students selected for exemplifying traits of character, and a club for students who want to make a difference. Traits of character include tolerance, responsibility, confidence, perseverance, discipline, respect, honesty, compassion, friendliness, and service.

"Smart Choices", Internet safety, and Bullying Prevention:
Through the Kids' Advocacy Place, a representative visits classes at every grade level twice a school year with presentations on "Smart Choices", internet safety, and anti-bullying.
