Public Information Requests and Employee/Student Directory Information

Welcome to the Public Information section of our website. There are two primary laws that apply to requests for public information. They are the Texas Public Information Act and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA - a federal law). There are several links listed below that will direct you to more information and forms about how to obtain and how to restrict the release of information (employees and students).

Everyone needs to know that more than ninety-five (95) percent of BISD employees have restricted the release of their directory information. They have done so according to the law. Please be considerate before making a request for employee information knowing that you will not receive information on a majority of our employees.

A majority of our students have also restricted the release of their directory information. Student information may be restricted by a parent (or other person having legal custody of the student) or by the student if the student is age 18 or above.

Finally, please note that the laws do not require a governmental entity to create or otherwise compile information that does not exist. The BISD is only required to provide copies or allow inspection of existing information.

All questions about these subjects may be directed to Craig Radtke, the Public Information Act Officer for the Boerne ISD by calling 830-357-2000 or by writing to the following address: 123 Johns Rd., Boerne, Texas 78006.
